All you need to know about the storm over Huawei

You would be forgiven if you had thought the US trade war with China is coming to an end however in a new barrage of attacks, the biggest economy in the world has escalated the confrontation with an emerging global powerhouse. Central to this trend is Huawei.
Huawei has enjoyed an astronomical rise to global relevance, being the second largest phone maker by phones shipped (second to samsung) yet, the company's largest business is done in telecoms equipment and accessories. In the next-generation 5G network, Huawei is a key player, offering standard yet more affordable pricing than most rivals in the development of 5G infrastructure around the world, the US is especially suspicious of the use of Huawei gears in the new network since it is more data sensitive and brings the possibility of remote access and control, the Chinese legislation that also mandates Chinese firms to aid the state with their resources is of particular concern to President Trump. The US have thus banned all US telecoms company from using Huawei gears in their 5G infrastructure also it encouraged its allies to do the same.
The latest act of putting Huawei on an entity list is a new ball game, this means no US company is allowed to trade with the Chinese company, therefore companies such as Google (which owns Android), Qualcomm, Broadcomm and other US chipmakers cannot do business with Huawei without special approval from the DoC (Department of Commerce). This has far reaching implications for Huawei and it means its phones will lose access to Google services (play store, maps, Google updates et al), the new unreleased devices anyway. While the effect is now suspended by a 90 day stay of execution order, it creates a number of concerns for Huawei, a company executive recently confirmed that they are exploring alternatives in any eventuality that its banned from running the Android OS, the open source suite for Android known as AOSP may come as the solution, which can be tweaked by Huawei to their specification. This action by all means, will hit the company hard but it will also affect the US companies and as the handle for Huawei on Twitter recently tweeted, "lose lose"  this is the reality for the eastern and western firms in this power play.
