RUIN

Earthlings enslaved
fumes of gas and propane
rains of sulfur on the southern mangroves
crippling approach of the desert
And arable lands shrinking
Like the bald of old grey Tobi
Never to be replenished by the touch of youth
but degraded in proof
Down fell the trees
Niche of many a specie
without abode desolation is assured
The green era seems at an end
windy and dry
submersion of coastal lines
There goes beloved Utopia
Laid to ruin
